Trex Composite Decking Designed Around Your Cirencester Garden
Ellis Decks is a TrexPro Gold approved installer, one of a small number in the UK to hold that status, and we build every deck the same way regardless of postcode: proper groundwork first, a 3D render of your actual garden before any board is ordered, then a finish in one of Trex's five ranges depending on the look and warranty you want.
It's the same process that's earned 5-star reviews and over 12 years of experience in South Wales, now brought to Cirencester and the surrounding Cotswolds.
Why Choose Us
Why Cirencester Homeowners Choose Ellis Decks for Composite Decking
TrexPro Gold Approved
One of a small number of installers in the UK to hold TrexPro Gold status, Trex's highest installer accreditation. It means every deck we lay meets a standard most local firms simply aren't assessed against.
12+ Years Fitting Trex Composite Decking
Not general landscapers who also do decking. Ellis has specialised in Trex installation for over 12 years, across hundreds of gardens.
Built From the Ground Up, Properly
Most decking problems (movement, sagging, boards coming loose) trace back to a rushed subframe. Every Ellis Decks installation starts with proper groundwork and a fully specified subframe built to take the weight, whatever's going on top of it.
3D Design Before You Commit to Anything
See your actual garden with the actual deck in it, board colour and layout included, before a single board is ordered. No guessing from a sample swatch.
5-Star Rated, With Reviews to Prove It
Real, named reviews from real customers. Not a generic star badge with nothing behind it.
Up to 50 Years Warranty
Depending on the Trex range chosen, some boards carry a 50-year warranty. That's a decking material designed to outlast the reason you're reading this page.

1
Free Quote & Consultation
Get in touch and we'll arrange a free, no-obligation visit to measure up your garden and talk through what you want. No pressure, no hard sell.
2
Design & 3D Render
We build a 3D render showing your actual garden with your chosen board colour and layout in place. You see it before you commit to anything.
3
Groundwork & Subframe
This is the step that decides whether your deck lasts 5 years or 25, so we don't cut corners on it. We dig out and level the ground properly, then build a fully specified subframe sized to the actual load it needs to carry. Joists are spaced correctly, treated where needed, and built to stay rigid rather than flex and creak within a couple of seasons.
4
Board Fixing & Finishing
Boards are fitted with hidden fixings for a clean finish with no visible screw heads. Extras like borders, inlays, steps or lighting get added at this stage, then we walk you through the finished deck and how to care for it.
Why Composite Decking Suits Cirencester Gardens
Low Maintenance
No sanding, staining or annual varnishing. An occasional clean with soapy water keeps it looking the way it did on day one.
Weather Resistant
Cotswold winters bring plenty of rain and damp. Composite doesn't rot, warp or split the way timber can when it's constantly wet then dry then wet again.
Won't Splinter
Safe underfoot for bare feet, kids and pets. No sanding down rough patches or catching a splinter carrying drinks out to the table.
Keeps Its Colour
Trex boards are colour-fast, so you're not looking at a grey, faded deck within a couple of summers the way some cheaper composite and most timber does.
Built to Last
Depending on the range, Trex boards carry warranties up to 50 years. That's decades without replacing boards or redoing a finish. Curious which range suits your garden? We break it down in our guide to Trex composite decking ranges.
Made From Recycled Material
Trex composite is made from a mix of reclaimed wood fibre and recycled plastic film, so it's a genuinely lower-impact choice than most people assume.

About Ellis Decks
Our Connection to the Cotswolds
Ellis Decks is run by Ellis, a TrexPro Gold approved installer who's spent over 12 years specialising in Trex composite decking, first across South Wales and now into the Cotswolds. It's a small, hands-on operation rather than a call centre with subcontractors, so the person who quotes your job is the same person who builds it.
Ellis has already worked on a Trex-sponsored project in the Cotswolds, a large residential build filmed as part of a social media campaign with Trex's media partner Pace. That's the same standard being brought to every Cirencester deck, not a one-off for the cameras.
You can see examples of finished decks in our project gallery.

Cirencester Composite Decking FAQs
Do I need planning permission for decking in Cirencester?
Most decking doesn't need planning permission if it's under 30cm above ground level. Cirencester and a lot of the surrounding villages sit inside the Cotswolds National Landscape (AONB), so raised decks or anything visible from a public road can face extra scrutiny. We'll flag it during your free quote if your project falls into that category.
Will composite decking look right in a period Cotswold garden?
This is the question we get most from Cirencester enquiries. Trex's higher ranges are designed with a genuine wood grain finish, which is why we recommend Transcend or Signature boards for older stone properties rather than the flatter entry-level options.
How much does composite decking cost in Cirencester?
It depends on the size of the deck, the Trex range chosen and any extras like railings or lighting. You'll get an exact figure from the free, no-obligation quote rather than a rough estimate that changes once we've actually seen the garden. For a full breakdown, see our guide on the cost of composite decking.
How long does installation take?
Most residential decks take between 2 and 3 days once the groundwork starts. Larger or multi-level projects can take longer, and we'll give you a realistic timeline at the quote stage. For the full step-by-step, see what to expect from a Trex composite decking installation.
What's the difference between composite and timber decking?
Timber is cheaper upfront but needs regular sanding, staining and treatment to stop it rotting or splintering. Composite costs more initially but needs no ongoing treatment and holds its colour and shape for decades. We go into more depth in our full comparison of composite decking vs timber decking.
How long does Trex composite decking last?
Depending on the range, Trex boards carry warranties from 25 up to 50 years. Properly installed on a correctly built subframe, that's a genuinely long-term deck rather than a short-term fix.
How far in advance should I book?
Spring and early summer are our busiest months for quotes, so it's worth getting in touch as soon as you're thinking about it rather than waiting until you want work to start immediately.
